Is is possible to change the url of the built in login link? I need the login button to point to a different url.

You can use the site settings to make any page the login page if you insert a login module on that new page. Then use url rewrite to call that page any way you want.

Yes, Look in Admin Settings > Advanced > Pages.

Thanks for the info. I guess my real issue is that I have two domains. One serves as a place where my content is hosted, and the other is just a domain that all the content gets redirected to. So really, my issue stems from having a masked domain, but I would like to point the login directly to the 'content' domain...if that makes sense.

 Not sure I follow, but like Allan said you choose what page the Login/register/home pages are in the admin menu.  You can use ANY page on your site, just make sure you have a login module for the login page or people will get confused.
