Hi Sebastian, and everybody else.

Thank you sooo much, I finally got it to work.... untill....
I get on my portal's homepage.
It keeps asking me for a login and password to my own computer
I'm pretty sure it has to do something with my permissions on the folder because after clicking "cancel" about 15 times, it loads the page, But I can't see many pictures or backgrounds.(as you see on the attached link to an image)
http://img196.imagevenue.com/img.php?...
the moment I click something it comes asking 15 times over and over to login....
help!! :)

Man, I can't remember installing DNN was this hard?!?!

thanks AGAIN!!

Ok, apparently I don't have access to the C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\DNN\Portals\_default\Skins\MinimalExtropy - directory.
I just created a quick skin and uploaded it, but still I get the message to login.
It's weird I have no permission on a folder on my OWN computer (I AM administrator)
very weird!!
anyhow, After uploading the skin, i got an extra directory under C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\DNN\Portals\_default\Skins called Skins...

In the old days my skin packages where uploaded and they worked instantly, but I MUST be doing something wrong with it.
I changed the host skin to this new simple one, and STILL I get the question to login...

help is needed :)
thanks!!

Solution found!!!
I googled a lot and finally found the next site http://support.microsoft.com/kb/30842...
Apparently sometimes Windows just blocks access to a folder when using NTFS.
anyhow, I followed these instructions, deleted the complete site, DB, logins again
and reinstalled the whole damn thing, and it works!!
YES!!
Now back to learning how to develop skins, containers etc...
thanks guys and girlz and especially Sebastian!!! for all your help!

Glad you were able to figure it out, it sounds indeed as you had to solve some permission issues. Start enjoying your DNN now ;)
