Hi,

I successfully installed a new DNN site on my localhost today (DNN 5.4.4); however, when I try to login as the superuser (host) or admin the login page simply redirects me back to the "Home" page.  I don't see my name on the screen (upper right corner in place of 'Login') and I do not see any of the admin tools.

I was able to successfully register a new user (complete with email notification) but also cannot log in as that user either.

Did I miss a step in the install?  Any assistance would be appreciated!  Thanks...

Hi,

Still hoping someone has a couple of ideas on this; I'm a newbie to .NET and DotNetNuke and want to evaluate this software as an open source CMS option for a client.

A few more details:  this is a new install using the MS Web Platform Installer on a Windows 7 Home Premium desktop running IIS 7.5.

The localhost website launches but the login feature does not appear to work.  I just get returned to the 'home' page when I try to 'Login'; no error messages; nothing.  Cannot login as superuser (host), admin, or regular user.  I'm guessing that the page is doing some type of validation which is failing in some capacity.

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

I'm feeling rather desperate at this point.  I would really like to move forward with DNN but cannot even get it to run locally!  Granted, I'm a newbie, but I need to start somewhere...

I have poured through the forum posts hoping to find a similar or related issue that might spark an answer or suggestion to try to resolve this problem, but have come up empty.

PLEASE, DOES ANYONE HAVE A SUGGESTION?

Thanks so much!

Hi All,

I'm at my wits end here - I have not been able to find a solution to this problem.  I don't want to have to give up, but if I don't get an idea and/or solution soon I will have to move on to try another tool...

I have continued to research this, but have not yet found an answer... so many wasted hours...

Does anyone have a suggestion?  Please?

are you using any redirection, proxy server or sth, which may interfere? What authentication methods did you enable for your IIS web site?

Cheers from Germany,
