Hello! I just installed DNN 5.5.0 and find that it no longer possible to administer Language Parameter in URLs in Admin - Languages. It is not nearly as good looking URLs that before, now is it www.homepage.com/Home/tabid/40/language/en-US/Default.aspx. Can you manage this anywhere else now?

I found a way to get back nice URLs if you want to use only one language.
Go to admin - languages and disable the language you no longer want, it seems to be the same attitude that existed earlier in the Admin - Languages - Languages Settings "Disable Language Parameter in URLs?"

Ah, that explains it. I went through pretty much the same scenario as Bruce, but with Spanish, and no matter what I did, none of the static content changed language.

It's a bit odd that the dynamic content responds to the language selector but not the static content. I hope that this feature does change in the future as it will make it a bit clumsy to test all the content is localized correctly.

In any case, fantastic to see the long-awaited multi-language version of DNN!!

We just released Advanced Control Panel 1.2.1, which includes a fix for DNN 5.5.0 to sync static language with the language selector (except dropdown list mode, which seems to be broken). You may download it for free from www.oliverhine.com. Please let me know, whether this fixes your issue.

Cheers from Germany,

Bruce, please be aware that in DNN 5.5.0 localization of static elements is no longer controlled by language parameter and language selector but by user preferred language or for unauthenticated users by browser settings or portal default language only. This might change in future versions.

Sorry, but this is just one of the stupidest things DNN team ever did!
