Hi,

I'm running DNN 4.9.5 and Store 2.01.00, (slightly modified).  After deploying, I'm noticing that all my product search results are linking to the incorrect catalog module (I have three).  I've cleared the search tables, emptied the recycle bin, and re-indexed.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Dave

Hi Dave,

It's normal because it's a bug corrected after the version 02.01.00 (I do not remember in which one). I have added a setting in the Store Catalog module to specify if the module content must be searchable. Because you use 3 catalog modules, you probably have each product listed 3 times in the search results!
Which are your changes in this version? This is a very old one (more than 2 years) and 36 versions have been produced from this one! The last version is 02.01.36 and can be downloaded at Codeplex.

It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

I'm actually not 100% sure what the base version was. I downloaded the source copy sometime about two years ago.  Most of the changes I've made are related to store pricing-by-role, actual shipping calculations for USPS and UPS, and preorders.  Some of it is quite ugly.

I do intend to merge my changes with new versions, but I haven't had the time lately.

Thanks for your response.

Hi Dave,

You probably use the Store 02.01.00 code base. The pricing by role could be a usefull feature, may be I will add it to my (looonnnggg) to do list. :-) Concerning the shipping calculation, it depends how you have done the work. If you have made two shipping providers then you could reuse them without too much changes. What is the 'preorders' feature?

Pricing by role allows different classes of customer to purchase from the same site, i.e. wholesalers as well as retail customers.  A very valuable feature.

Shipping calculation is implemented through providers, one contains the rules for my client, and calls to either one of two (USPS/UPS) based on those rules.

Preorders allows for the ordering of product not yet available, or in pre-production -- sort of like a back-order for product that has never been in stock.  For example, on Amazon, you can order an XBox 360 game or a DVD before it's available, and you will be charged and it will be shipped to you when it's ready.  In the case of my client, who is a small business in a niche market, it allows them to plan a size of production runs, as well as gauge interest in a particular product.
