While we can create other pivot views, we are getting a lot of questions about having an API that would allow mapping to other data.

This would be hard to do, as the technology is focused around a visual representation of data. Naturally this would have to be custom created for each data set.

- On the login issue, we would like to know if you can reproduce the issue you had. We have tested some login situation, and cannot reproduce the problem you experienced. Perhaps there is a dud URL somewhere that is causing this... something like a point to an incorrect domain, etc. If you know the steps you took exactly we would love to know.

I just tried again - logged on, and selected the Pivot module. This time I got the download dialogue for the file, so all seems well. I assume it was a cache issue before.

Regarding the desire for API and the ability to aim this at other datasources than only the DNN userbase - daunting it may be, but that's when this module will have real value for many of us.

For those who have a large and complex userbase, the module as is will be very cool.

As I am suggesting, the data source is not really the issue. We could build that now.

The issue is that the real value in this technology is the integration and visual representation of information AND IMAGES in a pivot. It is the visual side of things that would be difficult.

We could build something that says, for user X display data A, B, C and make it look just like what we have done with the data from DNN user tables. However in reality this is only a very simple example of what is possible. Where it becomes powerful it if you take a CUSTOM set of data sources for example, the sales of our modules in the Catalook product.

You then map, modules, and value, and user data, and build something that is meaningful to your company. That may be some neat graphics that indicate when a user has purchased product A and B but not C etc. But the graphics you use to represent this may be something similar to a report card, or status sheet. The data used in the card then determines what views can be sorted.

We will keep playing and see if we can think of a way to expand the ability to add an API. Next I think we will look to add it into out Bulk Email product to track the
who clicked what aspect of campaigns.
