hi, how to get rid of Down arrow icon? in xml, which property need to specify? please help.

Its in the CSS file that you make the change - find  all the code that has the arrow - (I don't have these files open or I'd post it here for you) but you simply remove the classes that are in the and put in it's place - {display:none;}  what you're doing in affect with the arrow behaviour is turning the display off using CSS.

find all the code in aspx?  is it possible to set it in skin.xml? Please advise.

check the skinning document. You'll notice three arrow properties, just set them to false and the will no longer display.
