Could someone suggest a few web hosting companies that support DNN and that they've had good luck with?

Thanks

there are a number of hosters advertising on this site - besides it might depend, in which country you are located and your target audience.

Yes, of course. I didn't realize how popular and active DNN was outside the US. I'll check out those advertising on this site. (And I'm in California.)

Steve,

The best choice of host depends on a lot of factors. What is the size of the site and anticipated traffic (now and near future)?  Do you want Full control of the server, or just want DNN to work and install through normal DNN host features?  Without more details on your site and use, it is hard to provide a valid recommendation.

With that said, I have used a few services to date, and am currently using a VPS solution provided by UltimaHosts.  Got in on them when they had a sale on their LA server.  A VPS is good if you are comfortable with running a virtual windows server via RDP protocol.  Being an IT guy, that is the level of control I wanted.  That said, I suspect that the average DNN user wants a "shared" environment where the admin uses the host features of dnn almost exclusivevly.  If that is the case, you may want to look at Dnn4less or Arvixe, both California companies that have a good reputation as far as I can tell.  I have used Arvixe for non-dnn clients, and they have always been reliable and quite fast in the linux-based shared servers.  I cannot attest to their DNN plans, but if they are at least close to their linux speed, most DNN users should be happy. They are based out of San Louis Obispo, CA last I checked.  DNN4less is based out of Bakersfield, CA and focuses on DotNetNuke.  I haven't used them yet, but from what I have read onthe forums, they seem to be top-tier. I would suggest contacting both companies and asking for more details on their level of support and the products they offer.

Hope this helps.

Kevin

Kevin, Thanks for all the info. I just have a small web shop (www.steveswebshop.com) where I expect to only do a few Mom and Pop businesses, so I don't need much. A shared server where I have a GB of space should hold me for quite awhile. I'll check out DNN4Less and Arvixe. I'm thinking that DNN will let me offer up sites for small communities, like Little League baseball or football organizations, clubs, churches, etc. By the way, I haven't heard the term "VPS.". Is that basically a VM on a physical server running Hyper-V or VMWare? Steve
