Hi all,

  I am hopeing someone on here can help. I have 2 sites hosted on a remote server provided by a 3rd party company. I have upgraded my other site to 5.5.1 and it's working O.K That was until about 10 mins ago.

  I just tried to set up the new site using DNN 5.6.0 I created a new database and set the connection tring in the web.config file. Set the site pointer to the correct directory and uploaded the files. Once done I navigated to the site\install\install.aspx and this is where it all went wrong. I got the following error on the install of the new site:

Server Error in '/' Application.

Runtime Error

Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File --> <configuration> <system.web> <customErrors mode="Off"/> </system.web> </configuration>

Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File --> <configuration> <system.web> <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/> </system.web> </configuration>

----------------------------------

This is what my old site is now reporting:

DotNetNuke

DotNetNuke Error

Error An error has occurred.
An error has occurred.

--------------------------------------------

can anyone suggest what might of gone wrong and how I might go about fixing it?

Thanks

O.K so I changed the following:

<customErrors mode="RemoteOnly"/>

to

<customErrors mode="off"/>

But all I get is the same page displayed and the same error. In addition my other site has gone down again. I just hope it comes back up by itself. If I canged the wrong value in web.config Please advise what I need to change.
