That worked! Now I have another development...

Permissions were granted for \bin and then while logged in as "Host", one by one I installed "Documents", "Media", "FAQs", "Forum" and "Blog". All are now avaialble in drop down list of Available Modules. First time I installed, I got "Document Module Unavailable". So, I logged out, logged back in, went into "Host Settings" and selected "reinstall application" hoping that might work. When I selected "FAQ" module to install, I got the similar message when I tried installing "Document" module previously...

Error: FAQs is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: connectionString ---> System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: connectionString at Microsoft.ApplicationBlocks.Data.SqlHelper.ExecuteReader(String connectionString, String spName, Object[] parameterValues) at DotNetNuke.Modules.FAQs.SqlDataProvider.SearchFAQList(Int32 ModuleId, Int32 OrderBy) at DotNetNuke.Modules.FAQs.FAQsController.SearchFAQList(Int32 ModuleId, Int32 OrderBy) at DotNetNuke.Modules.FAQs.FAQs.BindData() at DotNetNuke.Modules.FAQs.FAQs.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Here was code for Document module...

Error: Documents is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: connectionString ---> System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: connectionString at Microsoft.ApplicationBlocks.Data.SqlHelper.ExecuteReader(String connectionString, String spName, Object[] parameterValues) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Documents.SqlDataProvider.GetDocumentsSettings(Int32 ModuleId) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Documents.DocumentController.GetDocumentsSettings(Int32 ModuleId) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Documents.Document.LoadSettings() at DotNetNuke.Modules.Documents.Document.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Anything I can do under HOST or ADMIN settings to remedy this? Or is this another tweek involved in IIS or SQL or .NET?

please make sure, BOTH uncommented connection strings in your web.config file are identical.

Ooooooh boy! This is starting to sound hairy: we're getting into Visual Basic territory now...

I have MS Visual Studio Tools 2005 for Applications on my computer: can I drag my web.config file to my desktop and open it up in MS Visual Studio Tools 2005 for Applications to check said code?

What am I looking for? How will these TWO "uncommented connection" strings be compsed? What are the two particular code sections these respective strings are located (ie: what will be
or "name")?

I only have past elementary programming training in BASIC and some VRML and HTML hand-coding to refer to check numbered line in code, closing quotes, proper nesting, etc.

hm, web.config is plain simple XML - you may edit with any decent text editor, even beautiful notepad will be sufficient :)

web.config is an XML file and I can use good ol' Notepad to fix it? Whew!! That's a relief! Then I just have to make sure the nestings correct and I don't undermine the documents' form maintenance.

Back to my original question: what sequence of code is "uncommented connection" that I make sure is identical in what two places/locations within the web.config file's code? Thanks!
