I cannot use the FckEditor in the html modules.  I can edit the html modules without going to the editor however i get this long error message:

DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: The base class includes the field 'grdVersions', but its type (DotNetNuke.Web.UI.WebControls.DnnGrid) is not compatible with the type of control (System.Web.UI.WebControls.DataGrid). ---> System.Web.HttpParseException: The base class includes the field 'grdVersions', but its type (DotNetNuke.Web.UI.WebControls.DnnGrid) is not compatible with the type of control (System.Web.UI.WebControls.DataGrid). ---> System.Web.HttpParseException: The base class includes the field 'grdVersions', but its type (DotNetNuke.Web.UI.WebControls.DnnGrid) is not compatible with the type of control (System.Web.UI.WebControls.DataGrid). at System.Web.Compilation.BaseTemplateCodeDomTreeGenerator.BuildFieldDeclaration(ControlBuilder builder) at System.Web.Compilation.BaseTemplateCodeDomTreeGenerator.BuildSourceDataTreeFromBuilder(ControlBuilder builder, Boolean fInTemplate, Boolean topLevelControlInTemplate, PropertyEntry pse) at System.Web.Compilation.BaseTemplateCodeDomTreeGenerator.BuildSourceDataTreeFromBuilder(ControlBuilder builder, Boolean fInTemplate, Boolean topLevelControlInTemplate, PropertyEntry pse) at System.Web.Compilation.BaseTemplateCodeDomTreeGenerator.BuildSourceDataTreeFromBuilder(ControlBuilder builder, Boolean fInTemplate, Boolean topLevelControlInTemplate, PropertyEntry pse) at System.Web.Compilation.BaseTemplateCodeDomTreeGenerator.BuildSourceDataTreeFromBuilder(ControlBuilder builder, Boolean fInTemplate, Boolean topLevelControlInTemplate, PropertyEntry pse) at System.Web.Compilation.BaseTemplateCodeDomTreeGenerator.BuildSourceDataTreeFromBuilder(ControlBuilder builder, Boolean fInTemplate, Boolean topLevelControlInTemplate, PropertyEntry pse) at System.Web.Compilation.BaseTemplateCodeDomTreeGenerator.BuildSourceDataTreeFromBuilder(ControlBuilder builder, Boolean fInTemplate, Boolean topLevelControlInTemplate, PropertyEntry pse) at System.Web.Compilation.BaseTemplateCodeDomTreeGenerator.BuildSourceDataTreeFromBuilder(ControlBuilder builder, Boolean fInTemplate, Boolean topLevelControlInTemplate, PropertyEntry pse) at System.Web.Compilation.TemplateControlCodeDomTreeGenerator.BuildMiscClassMembers() at System.Web.Compilation.BaseCodeDomTreeGenerator.BuildSourceDataTree() at System.Web.Compilation.BaseCodeDomTreeGenerator.GetCodeDomTree(CodeDomProvider codeDomProvider, StringResourceBuilder stringResourceBuilder, VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.Compilation.BaseTemplateBuildProvider.GenerateCode(AssemblyBuilder assemblyBuilder) at System.Web.Compilation.AssemblyBuilder.AddBuildProvider(BuildProvider buildProvider) --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at System.Web.Compilation.AssemblyBuilder.AddBuildProvider(BuildProvider buildProvider) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildProvidersCompiler.ProcessBuildProviders() at System.Web.Compilation.BuildProvidersCompiler.PerformBuild() at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.CompileWebFile(VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultInternal(VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultWithNoAssert(HttpContext context, VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResult(HttpContext context, VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(String virtualPath) at DotNetNuke.UI.ControlUtilities.LoadControl[T](TemplateControl containerControl, String ControlSrc) at DotNetNuke.UI.Modules.ModuleHost.LoadModuleControl() --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

I have tried taking all the bin files from the full install package and placing them in the bin file of DNN installation however no luck in changing this error.  I also restarted IIS, restarted the app and cleared the cache after each try in troubleshooting this issue.

Thanks for any help.  I read a few threads that had some info like this however could not figure out from them what to do to fix this problem.

That would not be an issue with the FckEditor (or Telerik RadEditor) but rather the Html module itself. I have not encountered it in several 5.06.00 test installations and upgrades. I suspect that following the upgrade there is a mis-match of versions betweeen the file \DesktopModules\HTML\EditHtml.ascx and the file bin\DotNetNuke.Modules.Html.dll.

Could you please check the following:

1. Host -->Extensions : Version number of currently installed Html module. It should be 05.06.00.
2. File and product version of the assembly DotNetNuke.Modules.Html.dll in the \bin folder. If your site is remotely hosted you will most likely need to download this file then right-click on the file then click on Properties. For a clean install of 5.06.00 I am showing a file and product version of 5.6.0.0.
3. Admin -->Event Viewer for any error log entries related to the upgrade of the Html module during the upgrade to DNN 5.06.00.

Thanks a lot for your help.

HTML Module Version is 5.4.3

I have been copying files to try to correct this.  I do not know where I can locate the module to update this.  I wish there was an upgrade link next to this for me to follow like it shows up for some of the other modules.

So I just need to have those two files to have 5.6 or do I need an html installation package?

Thanks again.

I would suggest that you download a fresh copy of the DotNetNuke_Community_05.06.00_Upgrade.zip package from CodePlex, "unblock" the zip file then extract it into a new folder on your local computer. Inside the  /Install/Module folder of the extracted upgrade package you will find the module install package HTML_Community_05.06.00_Install.zip.

After browsing to your DotNetNuke site and logging in as host user, navigate to Host --> Extensions and use the Install Extension Wizard to upload and install the HTML_Community_05.06.00_Install.zip package. Hopefully it will install without error but if there are errors, make a carefull note of them so that you can post the details for us to examine. If there are errors, they will at least give a better idea as to why the HTML module upgrade to 05.06.00 failed during the framework upgrade. For safety sake, it would be good insurance to make a full backup of the site folders and files and also a backup of the SQL Server database before re-attempting the HTML module upgrade.

I use win RAR to extract on my server... then i go to the root folder and set all child folders to have the same permissions as the root folder with Network Service with write access and pass that on to all child objects.

Its a bit of a pain would be nice to see install packages for upgrades work like module upgrades.

Thanks for the help.
