Hi,

I have created sheduler module in DNN and it works fine. Now I have added user specific time zone in dnn.
For this purpose I need API for time zone conversion so all user can see their scheduled time correctly and sheduler should internally work perfectly.
While inserting in database I have to convert user specific timezone into system time zone and for showing to user I have to convert System time zone into user specific time zone.
SO how can I do this time zone conversion?

Thanks & Regards,
Nitin

ideally you should store times in UTC (SQL getDateUTC()) and add the timezonekey of the user, which is his current offset towards UTC. There is also usertime clasee wit convertServer2UserTime, but this method is misnamed (it converts between portal default timezone and user time zone) and should be avoided. There are plans for DNN 6 on switching to .Net TimeZones (including DST support).

Hi Sebastin,

User set his timezone while registration in my dnn site,
UserInfo.Profile.TimeZone returns integer value. How can I get logged in user timezone?
Please give sample code to get logged in user timezone.

Regards,
Nitin

In DNN3 to DNN5, UserInfo.Profile.TimeZone returns an Integer value, which is UTC offset in minutes.
