Interesting thing - noticed this error message off the page when I logged in this morning.

An error has occurred.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.UI.Containers.ActionBase.get_ActionRoot() at DotNetNuke.UI.Containers.ActionBase.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

From memory of using the forum lower version a couple of years ago it was very sensitive to Null values held in the db - this might occur when you add a record which is incomplete or for some reason the user is not valid. This might be a particular issue when you set up a forum and begin using it testing how you

What do you think Bart?

If that is correct where would I go to clean up the db - suppose I have to investigate that myself through the plesk desk control - gulp. :(

Oh should add that there was another error message that thought was the same as previous msg, but note it references it exists at WatchersNET.SkinObjects.ModuleActionsMenu.Menu.LoadMenu.

Bartmoleij

Turned off the Avators and got rid of the error message. thank you!

Just thinking aloud, would that be a problem if there are no records in Avators and so something like a null reference or table not yet created in db causes an error?

Also that reference you gave in the previous post does not appear to be correct - if you could provide again I would appreciate as would like to read up more.

thanks so much for your help.

Miles
