Although the error that you are seeing is an IIS error indicating that the anonymous user does not have permission to view the website and will have to be corrected in IIS, the connecting strings that you have setup in web.config are also incorect. I would recommend that you NOT make modification to web.config youself (particularly on a localhost installation). Instead, allow the installation wizard to step you through the process and make all necessary modifications for you.

In particular, note that:

1) In the first connection string, the name attribute should be "SqlSiteServer" not "MSOGB" unless you have made a corresponding change (not recommened) elsewhere in web.config.
2) For the database name you are using ".\msogb" which I presume is the server instance not the database name which is probably "msogb".
3) There is an extra end comment marker "-->" after the first connection string.
4) In the second connection string, the key attribute should also be "SqlSiteServer" not "MSOGB"
5) There is also an extra end comment marker after the second connection string.

Here's a typical set of connection strings for a localhost installation using a database that you have created and SQL Server authentication:

<connectionStrings>
    <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005/2008 Express -->
    <add name="SiteSqlServer" connectionString="Data Source=.\SQLExpress8;Initial Catalog=DNN560Source;User ID=DNN560;Password=xxxx" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
  </connectionStrings>
  <appSettings>
    <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005/2008 Express - kept for backwards compatability - legacy modules -->
    <add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Data Source=.\SQLExpress8;Initial Catalog=DNN560Source;User ID=DNN560r;Password=xxxx" />
    <add key="InstallTemplate" value="DotNetNuke.install.config" />
    <add key="AutoUpgrade" value="true" />
    <add key="UseInstallWizard" value="true" />

Note also that the value attribute of the second connection string should match the connectionString attribute of the first connection string.

First thanks for your response.  Second I believe (trying to correct one thing at a time) that I now have the web.config file correct

Additional information that might be hepful:
- This installation is moved out of the C:\Inetpub\wwwroot  folder to D:\websites\MSOGB
-This is set up with an MSSQL Server 2005

Thanks I am a newbie at websites.
