Hi,
I've been getting 2 errors logged in the Event viewer each time I open FCK for ages, though it doesnt seem to effect things badly.

Message: System.Exception: Error loading FCK setting (Reverse HTML Encode output) ---> System.FormatException: String was not recognized as a valid Boolean. at System.Boolean.Parse(String value) at DotNetNuke.HtmlEditor.FckHtmlEditorProvider.Fckeditor.LoadFCKCTLSettings(Boolean mAdmin) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---
and
Message: System.Exception: Error loading FCK setting (HTML Encode output) ---> System.FormatException: String was not recognized as a valid Boolean. at System.Boolean.Parse(String value) at DotNetNuke.HtmlEditor.FckHtmlEditorProvider.Fckeditor.LoadFCKCTLSettings(Boolean mAdmin) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

I've done some investigation into these errors on the forums and there is an apparent workaround (to set the settings as FALSE rather than DEFAULT in the editor advanced settings) but this doesnt seem to work for me. BTW changing this setting doesnt seem to change the config file ... where does this setting get saved ?!

Ive created a custom file for menus etc at
PortalRoot\Providers\HtmlEditor\Providers\Fck\FCKeditor\custom\fckconfig.js
which has a standard setting of
FCKConfig.HtmlEncodeOutput = true ;
and no mention of the Reverse HTML Encode output that the first error complains about.
So I'm not sure what I've missed, and why either the entry is wrong or the Reverse entry is missing. Or, if this isnt picked up from the config file at all and I'm missing something else!
Any help appreciated
Thanks
Rob

Hi Sebastian, Thanks for your reply. I'm running DNN 5.2.3 and FCK 2.0.3.22477 I've also got a test system on DNN 5.6.1 and I get the errors on that too. Many thanks Rob

Bump bump .... I've now removed my entire FCKHTMLProvider folder and downloaded and installed the current latest version 02.00.03, but I'm still getting this problem. I have noticed, that if I create a 'clean' portal and access the editor, I don't get error messages. If I then access the editor advanced options, Click settings type of Portal, expand advanced editor options, select 'Yes' on HTMLEncodeOutput and Reverse HTML Encode Output and click save. Then each time I access the editor I get the errors as reported. My main question now is : Where are these advanced settings stored? Not on the filesystem I don't think, and I've tried to see where they are in the database, with no luck. Can anyone help me find where the settings are stored ? Or help with this error? Many thanks Rob

you may remove all fckeditor settings from Module settings and host settings table. you my identify them easily by trainling "###FCK###" or sth like this.
