I am delighted to see that my original post may have`lead to a useful connection between a willing and able contributor and a hard-working core team. Dumb questions asked in newbie ignorance are not meant as criticism of this amazing software.

I am a computer user not a programmer and wrote my first program in 1966. I think the magic of a killer app happens when the people who know the application begin to understand the technology, viz accountants with spreadsheets. So I think helping people like me who are impatient to get results yet not afraid to tackle developing their own modules is important to creating the demand that will keep dnn thriving.

I am reading the dnn API documentation but there is still a gap between that and the Traincert and Seabury videos and at the moment trial and error and study of the vast Microsoft training and help resources is plugging it. Everyday I go two steps forward and one back - maybe that is just a fact of life of programming. Meanwhile I will continue to search this and the asp.net forums and expect to continue to need to ask more questions. Hopefully they will be helpful to others and point people enhancing the documentation at places that need more detailed or more elementary explanation.
