That is a generic error message displayed when an unexpected failure has occurred during the uploading of the file. The error details should be logged in the Admin --> Event Viewer. Please check the Event Viewer for one or more related errors and post the entire error detail from the Event Viewer in this thread so I can take a closer look at it.

Do you receive this same error when trying to upload other image files?

Are you using Gallery version 4.03.03 or 4.03.00 ?

What version of DotNetNuke is installed?

Here's the actual error: Access to the path 'c:\Inetpub\vhosts\emphnet.net\httpdocs\Portals\0\Gallery\3_3\_source\88.jpg' is denied.

You need to make sure that the root folder /httpdocs and ALL child folders have been granted full filesystem permissions (including modify) to the ASP.Net worker process account (IIS identity account). Note that these permissions are not the role based permissions that you can manage in your DotNetNuke Admin-->File Manager but must be set up on your web server. If your site is installed on a shared hosting provider, you may need to request that support set the root folder permissions for you. Quite possibly, the root folder permissions are correct but the httpdocs\Portals\0\Gallery folder and its child folders may not have inherited file system permissions from its parent when it was created. Using your hosting control panel (most likely a Plesk control panel since the root folder is \httpdocs) you should be able to grant the necessary full permissions to the ASP.Net worker process account yourself on any child folder httpdocs. Be sure that when doing so you allow permissions to propagate downward to child folders.

The difficulty may be knowing which user is the ASP.Net worker process account as it depends on your web server version. If as I suspect you are on a shared hosting provider with a Plesk control panel, the worker process account is often the one beginning with IWPD_ and may also be shown as the Plesk IIS WP User.
