I am using a 3rd party module(s) on 5.6.1 CE. The site has private security due to its membership and purpose. I have built a registration and login process, but get hung up because an Admin must Authorize the user with private security.  Is there a stored procedure in the core to which I could pass the UserID and have SQL do that authorizing without Admin action?  If no stored procedure is built in, can someone suggest the SQL script that would accomplish the same thing?

update userportals set authorized = 1 where userId = @userId and portalId = @portalId

Wow! Thanks Sebastian.  If I can try to clarify one thing.  The 3rd party module has the UserID as a token in that module as '$(UserID)' and the SQL needs it to be @UserID.  Can you suggest how I would make the syntax parsing guts hapy with this use of alpha chacracters?

either create a stored procedure and DAL or use Linq2SQL. You cannot call server code directly from client side script.
