Hi,
I am struggling to get AD implemented correctly, it works to some extend.
The only problem I have is that, when you first browse to the site, the user is redirected to: mydomain /DesktopModules/AuthenticationServices/ActiveDirectory/WindowsSignin.aspx?tabid=140.
I don't want this redirection to happen! I just want it to show the home page.
How can I prevent this redirection?

Thanks for a quick response (if possible),
using 5.6.1. AD 5.0.2 on 2008r2

Hi Peter

Do you want all users to login manually or do you want your intranet users to login automatically and your internet users to go to the home page.

If it's all users then just comment out the <add name="Authentication.... /> in your web.config. The provider will still work but users will have to login manually.

If it's the second case then on the providers settings you can set the IP ranges for automatic login and just use your internal addressing range. The only gotcha in that case is if there's an appliance on the network that redirects traffic and you end up with all external visitors showing up with an internal IP. The easiest way to sort that out is by looking at the Site Log in DNN and seeing what IP addresses are showing up.
