Greetings!

After moving sites for a jumpy client, we cannot open the MultiMedia dialog box.

We see a client-side error with no server event, Error: Web.config registration missing! The Telerik dialogs require a HttpHandler registration in the web.config file.

Are we missing some information? We noticed a post on dnnForums stating that this RadEditorProvider is included in DNN 5.6.1.

1) Is this true? (We did install REP1.1.4 after 5.6.1 was installed. Bad?)

2) The error above has a list of four solutions here:
http://www.telerik.com/support/kb/aspnet-ajax/editor/error-web-config-registration-missing-the-telerik-dialogs-require-a-httphandler-registration-in-the-web-config-file.aspx

None of these worked.

3) Could you provide the web.config patches needed to make REP 1.1.4 work under 5.6.1?

4) Do the configuration files for REP under DesktopModules/dnnWerk.RadConfigEditor/*Config*/  port from earlier version REP 1.1.2 without a problem?

Regards,
Guy

RAD controls are included with DNN since version 5.2.0, you need to make sure it has been added properly to the web.config (see release.config as template) and you may need to take latest telerik.dll from install package of DNN 5.6.1

Sebastian:

I am working with the original poster of this thread and would like to maybe clarify something.

  • We installed DNN 5.6.1 as a brand new install on a new server - we did not upgrade the DNN install.
  • We then transferred two web sites from a 5.4.1. based server to the new 5.6.1 based server.
  • We then installed dnnWerk.
  • We can edit the profiles via the Host based control, make changes and save new profiles.
The problem occurs when we attempt to use any of the image or media managers while editing an HTML module on a web page. The following error is displayed on the manager page:

Error: Web.config registration missing! The Telerik dialogs require a HttpHandler registration in the web.config file.

We do NOT get this error if we set the editor to the default instead of dnnWerk.

We do not see any immediately obvious differences in the web.config file between the working 5.4.1 installation and the 5.6.1 installation.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance!
Roger

When you say you 'Transfered' websites from 5.4.1 to 5.6.1 - what exactly do you mean ???

Each web site should be UPGRADED to 5.6.1 - to allow all the correct changes to occur in web.config and in the database.

How exactly did you do this 'transfer' ?

We exported a portal template from 5.4.1 including content. After modules and skins were installed on 5.6.1, we used site wizard to read in the templates.

Note that dnnWerk RadEditor 1.1.2 was being used on the 5.4.1 platform. Whereas, dnnWerk 1.1.4 is on the new 5.6.1 platform.
