I just newly installed the source version 5.6.2 and got an exception as "Violation of UNIQUE KEY constraint 'IX_PortalAlias'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.PortalAlias'. The statement has been terminated". Got this error at end of the installation process. But I could open site successfully. Does this error create any issues going ahead ? Has anyone faced this exception while completing the installation process ?

Something tried to add an already existing PortalAlias to your site. I have no idea why, a stack trace that led to that error message may help determine that.

There should be nothing to worry about, you obviously already have the required portal alias record. As long as the error doesn't keep repeating, I don't see it causing any additional problems.

I assume there is an issue with auto portal alias routine. You may safely ignore the issue and turn off auto portal alias creation in DNN 5.6.2

i have the same problem, i have a 5.6.0 version, in my local iis there is no problem. but i publish it with vs2010 to a hosting environtment and each time i enter to the site in this way http://array.arrayman.com i got the ErrorPage.aspx

but if i enter to site in this way http://array.arrayman.com/default.aspx   i have no problem.

some one can help me to understand and if posible solve this iusse.?
