Fresh installations of both 5.6.1 and 5.6.2 - File Manager tree just spins and does not expand. IE shows this error:

This is a known issue with some DNN 5.6.1 and 5.6.2 installation. In addition to problems with file manager, you will also see issues with the module action menus and other client-side script and postbacks in some modules. Until the issue is resolved in a later version:

1. Login as host user.
2. Navigate to Host --> Host Settings
3. In the section Advanced Settings, Performance Settings find the drop-down box for "Compression Setting"
4. Change it to "No Compression"
5. Update host settings.

I am experiencing this on DNN .5.6.2 which has been upgraded contiually from around 5.5. In my case, It only applys to the Host > File Manager, not Admin. Compression setting does not seem to change anything. Neither does new autosync feature.

Page processes right away but no change. No error is raised in Event Viewer. Same behavior in custom skin or minimal extropy

Changing the compression setting to No Compression did work for me. I am concerned though that the performance is now not optimal. Anyone have an idea when a patch for this might be available? I would hate to have to upgrade the entire installation for what appears to be a client side script bug.
