Hi,

I'm restructuring my skins.

When you use a particular skin, to my knowledge, DotNetNuke use the "skin.css" in the directory of the particular skin and when my skin has as a name MySkin.ascx it also binds the MySkin.css to it.

But what if I use (in "MySkin.ascx") a shared header ("SharedHeader.ascx") for which I have a "SharedHeader.css"? DotNetNuke doesn't seem to use "SharedHeader.css". How can I accomplish this?

Thx.

What you could do (probably not very elegant though) is to inject the CSS for your SharedHaeder.css into the MySkin.css via a @import("SharedHeader.css") statement.

I've thought of that option, but was hoping there is a direct way to link "SharedHeader.ascx" and "SharedHeader.css".
I've tried adding:
<!--#include file="SharedHeader.css"-->
and
<link href="SharedHeader.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
to "SharedHeader.ascx" without success.

Try using either use the dnn:Styles skin object or the 40Fingers Style Helper Skin Object in that file to link to your CSS.

Thanks very much Ralph!!

I tried both. The dnn:Styles skin object came back with an "unable to cast object of type to type" error message. (See the code I used and the error message in the URL below.)

The 40Fingers Style Helper Skin Object worked in one go.

Thanks again!
