I have the following bizarre situation. I have direct link to a page, say, http://www.mysite/sometab/sometitle.aspx. Occasionally, the link would be temporarily redirected with a 302 redirect. When I check the redirect with some redirect checker, I get

Type of redirect: 302 Moved Temporarily
Redirected to: http://www.mysite.com/sometab/sometitle.aspx?9ef11380

(the number argument obviously changes).

This said, the page still shows as intended and still displays the original link.

Has anyone else seen this? I am running DNN 5.6.1 on IIS 7, ASP 4. Friendly URLs are on.

are there any performance issues, which may cause this behaviour?

Not sure, but would like to ask you where is your ViewState located?

Also can you check httpModules you have defined in your web.config. May be some of them make this redirection?

Sebastian:

Yes, there are performance issues. In order for me to be able to argue these out with my hosting provider though, it would be good for me to understand why a redirect may happen if there are performance issues. It is a bit beyond my knowledge, as I don't know at what point in the process between the client, server, application, IIS, this argument gets appended. Any information would help.

Sergey:

Here is some stuff from my host settings. My page state persistence is "page" as in the original installation. Module cache provider is "memory". Cache settings are "heavy". Authenticated cacheability: "serverandnocache".

After looking at my web.config file, I can't find anything that looks strange. But then again, this is not my area of expertise. Short of putting my whole web.config in this forum I have no idea.

Thanks for the help. Let me know if you guys have more ideas or if you need any other information.
