I'm in the process of converting my Classic ASP site to DNN.  Looked at most of the popular CMS and decided to go with DNN even though my hosting co. (Web Wiz) advised otherwise saying that it was buggy.  I'm running a local copy and the development version in parallel [testing as I go] . Is hosted as a sub domain of the classic asp site.  The classics site flys but I'm getting very frustrated with the DNN.  Takes forever to update, add text anything to the point I wouldn't dare take the site live.  My members would desert me.

Both sites are on the same server and DB.  One thing I notice is that in the Host Setting is a checkbox "Is Web Farm", however I can't click it on.  Thinking that this may be a cause of the slow loading time and I'm talking minutes (3-6) and even "The Server has been Reset."  Contacted the host today and asked why asp was fast as and DNN soooooooooooo slow.  Response was that it didn't surprise him as DNN is a resource hogg.  Over 95% of sites hosted on Web Wiz are asp.net.

Any help to get this sorted please.

Merv,

There are a number of settings within DNN as well on IIS that can help you speed things up. I'll list a few resource below, however you can query Google with 'DotNetNuke performance' to see more. The following resources are reliable and I have used them for a number of years,

Hope these get you going in the right direction.
