At approximately 12:52am PST, Monday, July 11th, the www.dotnetnuke.com site was activated on a dedicated server.  If you have noticed some performance improvement recently... that would be why!

It's worth pointing out that our experience in MaximumASP's VPS (Virtual Private Server) was nothing short of exceptional.  But we did establish some thresholds for DotNetNuke, which was part of our original desire to run in the VPS to begin with.  The place at which our performance was becoming noticeably impacted was at a level of approximately 2 million page views per month.  Thats a lot of activity in a VPS account...

In addition to the page views... Remember that DotNetNuke also (optionally) runs some background processes to synch up the file system, index search content, manage users online, etc.  Our site has a large amount of both content and files and we really pushed the scheduled activity in that regard.  We were able to leverage our experience here to observe some performance improvement opportunities which will be reflected in upcoming releases.  Its likely that with these items fixed we could have remained comfortably in the VPS account for a while longer... but we anticipate and are pursuing aggressive growth.  So the move to the dedicated server makes sense for us at this time.
