I'm probably overlooking something fairly basic but when I set the forums up on my server it seems that any user can edit any other user's postings.  Did I miss something in the configuration?

The word is don't expect it at all.  The module originally was dependant on the NNTP dll you speak of.  We would have to write this entire dll just to get started using newsgroups again.  We also have to then wire it back into the module, since most of the module is completely different this would require a decent sized effort. 

I am not ruling this out forever, I just can imagine it happening within the next six months.
