I need to do some custom development but want to start with DNN 6 as this is for new web sites.

Are the ADef and other tutorials up to date for that? Or are there other considerations?

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Wiki/Page/Module-Development.aspx

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Wiki/page/DotNetNuke-5-Using-a-Database.aspx?From=DotNetNuke-5-Using-a-Database)

http://adefwebserver.com/dotnetnukehelp/DNN4_DevelopmentEnvironment/DNN4DevelopmentEnvironment1.htm

etc. etc. etc.

I just need to know that I can get started properly with one of those on DNN 6. They're for DNN 4 and 5, but I've not done any module development in a long time, and I've forgotten everything.

The module I need to develop will start with the Survey module (4.70) as a base to give me a bit of a jump start. (I may need to scrap that, but I'll try starting there.)

Thanks in advance for any advice or pointers.

most of the receipts in tutorials and books, targeting DNN5 modules, are still valid for DNN 6 as well.

As Sebastian says, the techniques for developing modules are the same in 6.0 as they were in 3.x/4.x/5.x . Please note there are some new items that you may wish to consider if your module(s) are targetting 6.0 and on - http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Wiki/Page/DotNetNuke-6-Developer-Quick-Start.aspx

Thank you Sebastian! :D

That helps me avoid running down the wrong path.

Ah! Even better! Thanks for chiming in!

I remember the disconnect in v2, so I wanted to look for confirmation here.

Thank you for the reference as well. I'll start there.
