Yeah, I looked at that example, but I don't understand any of it. You seem to be under the impression that I'm an expert programmer - I'm afraid I'm not. It's also rather confusing, because the code in the two links you posted use two different languages. If you could just give an example that does what I described in my previous post, I'm sure I could modify it with different role names/page names to suit my needs. Oh, and I still have no idea where I'm supposed to put this code...

Could you at least tell me what file I need to add my custom code to? I can probably figure out the rest with some help from google...

If you take a look at dotnetnuke 6, in the Portals\_default\Skins\DarkKnight folder you'll see 2 custom menus defined, dnnmega and dnnstandard. If you look into the dnnmega folder you'll see DNNMega-menudef.xml which defines the custom menu and DNNMega.xslt which is the template. The earlier wiki links I gave explain how to create custom menus - the link at http://www.dnngarden.com/XSL-extension-functions.T133.aspx also explains how to use UserIsInRole to detect and vary menus based on role.

I'm not using dotnetnuke 6, I'm using 5.6.3. I don't see equivalent files in the MinimalExtropy folder.
