Honestly, I haven't used any of the default DNN menus since the 3.x days, but I think the CSSControl simply injects the name "mainMenu" as a class so that you can load multiple menus and style each one differently. But don't qoute me.

This thread would probably be a good resource to start:

Thanks for the link, and thanks everyone else for all help, but I ended up upgrading to DNN 6.0, and my portal is now unusable. I've gotten in way over my head, I'm just gonna find an easier to use CMS.

Sorry to hear that. I will admit, DNN can have a bit of a learning curve, as does any other CMS. But once you get past that, the framework is quite flexible. I'm not a programmer either and have had my struggles, but also rewards.

We'll still be here to help the best we can, and best wishes.

I will admit, that may have been a bit harsh, and I probably won't give up on DNN right away, but I can't do anything about this skin thing for the time being, since I can't access my site :( Hopefully getting this working will be easier if 6.0 ever does work for me though...
