Are you only a subscriber to their site, or their magazine also?  I am extremely picky when I consider paying to subscribe to a web site.  It never has seemed to be worth the money yet.  However, perhaps this site might be different.  :)

Hello, it's Lee from DNN Creative here, I just wanted to confirm a couple of things for you:

The subscription is for access to the entire content of the website. There is not an actual physical paper magazine. I've used the word 'magazine' as each issue follows the format of a magazine.

For your subscription you get access to all future issues (for 12 months) plus all previous issues. - So in 10 issues I have created 127 DNN videos (which you have immediate access to) and there will be just as many videos created over the next 10-12months. - So you can see that you get good value for your money.

I do not offer refunds to subscribers, but as an offer to you, if you are not satisfied after signing up and viewing the content I will give you your money back no questions asked.

Here you can view other testimonials from DNN Creative subscribers

and here you can view a list of the DNN tutorials

I would suggest you also have a look at the free section to get a good idea of the quality.

Each month I pick a new topic, over the past few months I have mainly been looking at different skinning methods, right through to creating pure CSS skins.

I welcome any suggestions for tutorials from subscribers and try to incorporate them into the magazine. - One suggestion was to create a document which outlined all of the DNN classes that are used in a DNN skin, so I created http://www.skinningtoolkit.com which everyone can view for free, released 1st June.

The most important thing to me is that each of my subscribers is satisfied with the service, so feel free to get in touch, thanks,

Lee Sykes

For my opinion hismightiness I think that site is mainly about money.  I have bought videos and then I downloaded them and viewed them. From what I see, this site looks like it gets information from other peoples websites and from other peoples blogs and forum and then puts on his making me think he is very clever when I first pay money. But I think alot of it is bunch of  words of other people's blogs and forum put into a package which if you don't know about you might think is by Mr. Sykes own knowledge. But may not be from his own experience  so I feel there is not 100% honest.  It is easy to copy and paste information on internet these days. The skinning knowledge is ok but no real design skills at all so it does not complete the picture and I have asked some people and the do not use visual studio or express to do work. There is no creativity here but instructions that you can read from documents or free places yourself and learn. Nearly all information can be picked up on the forums and other sites.
A true resource I think maybe not. It is very selective about which persons are listed on the site and some of the people in dnn are not there at all so there is some misinformation for someone looking for total solution. It was clever missing information that what made me realise it is not genuine about resources but what is good for profit. That is Mr.Sykes choice too but I think much of his news is second and third hand and from the mouth of other people if you visit other people in dnn websites.
That is my opinion because I am purchasing a subscription from snowcovered and then downloading and watching them and visiting site some times but I did not think there was enough worth going back to get any more new ones. I think he likes sound of his voice but that is not too bad. He has good idea on how to make money from people who do not know what is on offer in dnnworld and I will try to think now how I can do same thin to make business on other  persons work and efforts. Very good on Mr. Syke I like your profit making ideas. I hope I have explained  from someone who has bought and tried it so this is only my opinion ok because you asked for what people think but I am only one person and not so clever as other people so maybe I look too hard at honesty and kind people who have helped alot but not ask for money. So my score for real content that does not belong to others 5.5 out of 10.  A bit better than some sites, but so much of same information over and over again it too messy for a simple person such as myself and leaves no inspiration.  You can get quality information from other sites for nothing and even the help on this site also has good value. thank you from dnnster.

I've been considering purchasing a subscription to the DNN creative magazine. Likewise, I've been considering setting up my very first DNN installation. With inspiration from DNN creative magazine (free resources) I'm going to do just that. Judging by the free content offered, I would consider the subscription to be a  good value.

Lee is a professional, I like the video tutorials especially, and he is not merely a hobbyist. He believes in the DNN application and is doing his best to support it by helping others learn the necessary tools. To a non-developer or a beginning developer, who hasn't coded anything more then copy pasting scripts, or upload and run-it applications, the resources are excellent. As far as integrating content from other websites, that's just great too, that makes his a one stop resource & community.

Also the forum's at DNN creative are not moderated, so you can post and receive answers to your questions more quickly than this very forum. Not to slight the community here, I can understand the need to keep the forum's moderated with all of the open source PHP fanatic haters in the world.

A subscription fee is probably better than a whole lot of obstrusive advertising. I'm sick of seeing Google ads every place. I rarely click those.

What an extraordinary and repetitive rant!

Not really worth replying to each point in detail, but I would recommend prospective subscribers to sniff around the DNN Creative site for a few weeks, download some of the free videos and make up their own minds.  I have subscribed and am happy with my decision.  I have also subscribed to other sites that have tailed off in quantity and/or quality.  The DNN Creative stuff is mostly pitched at the right level for me, but each individual must make up his/her own mind about that.  And the information on skinning, particularly on CSS skinning, is a great strength of Lee's site.

Just my twopenn'orth.  All IMHO.

I think somehow you are missing the point! Your quote "a simple person such as myself " What is it are you looking exactly ...perhaps someone to do DNN for you. DNNCreative has been the key resource for people who are new to .NET and wanting to get to grips with what it and to see what can be offered through DNN.

I have been and always will be a fan, users and advocate for what Lee does. I am not a penny pincher because when I do things I like to do them right. I can only do this through experience and DNNCreative has helped me along the way and offered second to none in terms of the insight into how DNN works.

I have always found, through 25 years in IT, that the people, who rabble and complain unjustly, are just the ones that don't understand the technology or the logic, and believe me there is no logic in your comments. Lee has designed a site to help people just like you...the needy and naive, and for him to receive unfounded comments by a member in his 1st post, is...well NUTS.

My 2 pennies worth.... Keep up the good work Lee....
