you can change the jquery version via the host UI - http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Wiki/Page/jQuery-host-settings.aspx . As for jqueryui you will have to include it yourself, and it doesnt matter where in the filesystem it us. Note: if you upgrade to 6.0 it's a part of the default install - http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Blogs/EntryId/3136/DotNetNuke-6-jQuery-jQuery-UI-and-New-jQuery-Plugins.aspx

 When I navigate to the link you gave...
  I see there
      - installed Jquery Version and
       - Installed Jquery UI version

I'm using version DNN560, I don't see the Jquery UI version ?   How can I upgrade the installed Jquery Version to 1.6.2... I copied the file to \js\   folder but  no difference?

please advice ?

You should REGISTER jquery in any module you create that relies on jquery by adding this line of code to the top of your Page_Init or Page_Load event.

DotNetNuke.Framework.jQuery.RequestRegistration()

FIrst:  The JS folder is only used for core DotNetNuke framework JavaScript and not for third party libraries.  The jQuery files are located at \Resources\Shared\scripts\jquery.  The appropriate method for using a more current version of jQuery with an older DNN installation is to use the jQuery CDN as recommended by Cathal.  This will ensure that your version of jQuery is not overwritten in subsequent upgrades.

Second:  DotNetNuke 5.6.0 does not know anything about jQuery UI.  You will need to handle adding that JavaScript reference from within your own code since the framework will not handle the registration for you.  You should use some sort of JavaScript loader so that if your site is subsequently updated to DNN 6, that your code won't inject jQuery UI into the page a second time.  For performance purposes, I would recommend loading the jQuery UI from a CDN as well.  This also means that you don't have to add any additional jQuery or jQuery UI files to your site as both libraries can be loaded directly from the Google or Microsoft CDNs.
