Hi,

In version 5 of DNN i used this code to add the main menu:
<|dnn:NAV runat="server" id="dnnNAV" ProviderName="DNNMenuNavigationProvider" IndicateChildren="false"
ControlOrientation="Horizontal" CSSControl="mainMenu" Level="Root" PopulateNodesFromClient ="false" StartTabId="-1" ExpandDepth="1" /|>

and this code to add the submenu somewhere in the page: <|dnn:LEFTMENU runat="server" id="dnnLEFTMENU" Width="195px" ShowOnlyCurrent="RootItem" MaxLevel="2"
EnableEmbeddedSkins="false" Skin="MinimalExtropy" /|> and everything worked just fine.

But now i've installed the new version of DNN (DNN 6) and using the same code for menu/submenu, i have these problems:

1. It seems to be an error in Firefox, from time to time, when refreshing a page, the main menu dissapear (and appears on a different refresh)

2. The submenu is displaying ok, but i can't acces any of the subpages. When i click on a submenu item, this error message appears:

An error has occurred. DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.PageLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---|> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Controls.LeftMenu.CheckShowPath(Int32 tabId, RadPanelItem panelItemToCheck, String pageName) at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Controls.LeftMenu.BuildPanelbar(RadPanelItemCollection rootCollection) at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Controls.LeftMenu.OnLoad(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Please let me know how can i fix this.
Thank you,
Ani

I seem to recall reading about some issues with LEFTMENU in dnn600 - dnn601 has just been released.  It may be worth looking at it first to see if it does what you need.

But having said this - in dnn600 the preferred menu provider is the new ddrmenu - http://www.dnngarden.com/ has a number of examples of ways to use this menu provider - including a very elegant looking accordian sidemenu.

With the ddrmenu you can do both horizontal and vertical menu layouts - so there is no real need for LEFTMENU going forward.

Thanks for your quick response.
But i want the submenu to be displayed in the page, not as it is displayed by default with DDR menu.(on mouseover only)
So, when i click on a menu, i want it's sumbenus to be always displayed somewhere in the page.
How can i do this with DDR menu?
