Is it possible to remove a menu item which appears in the main navigation, but still make it appear in the footer?

When I remove from the menu item (unchecking the option 'Include in Menu') it removes from the Navigation, but I'd still like it to appear in the footer.

I don't think it's possible but just want to make sure.

Yes, it is possible.

The details will be in your skin and you'll need to know exactly how the links are rendered.

Without seeing anything, I'd guess that your navigation is created with the DNN Nav menu and that the footer links are created with the ChildLinks skin object.

Assuming that this is correct, probably the easiest thing to do is to modify your skin to the the DDR Menu to replace the DNN Nav menu. This is, essentially, a drop-in replacement. You can then use the ExcludeNodes attribute in the DDR Menu to exclude pages from the navigation. They will still be present with the ChildLinks object.
