As i didnt dare test the upg up against the production environment i used my local installation which runs on a W2k8R2 server with MSSQL 2k8 Express and IIS 7.5 w/ .NET 4.0.

The installation is a clean installation using only modules included from the installation package.
Also no users has been created except for the host and admin users.

1. I downloaded this upg package: http://dotnetnuke.codeplex.com/releases/view/32336#DownloadId=81679

2. I copied its contents to the folder of the dnn 4.8.4 installation overwriting files when asked.

3. Then i went to the sites url (in my case http://192.168.1.186:81/)

4. The upgrade started automatically and all tasks were completed successfully

5. I clicked the link provided by the upgrader that would take me to the portals frontpage

Now the menu has been moved to the bottom of the page or maybe its actually gone and what i see at the bottom is just textlinks.

When i click the "Login" or "Register" nothing happens and if i click one of the textlinks i get the 404 msg.

Ok i tried it again by doing a new clean install of 484, then upgraded and this time it went fine.

So for now imma try and get hold of the hosting service and see what backup possibilities ive got there.

Thx for the hlp regarding the upgrade, im still all ears if anyone has anything about the update slowdown issue.
