Hi everyone! First, I must tell you I am brand new to DNN, so I understand there is a bit of a learning curve. My main issue that I am having, and after days of researching and unsuccessfully finding the solution, is with the DRR and DNN Menu and that I do not have any menu styles to choose from other than the pre-installed DarkKnight skins. From everything I have read, the newest version of DNN should have several menu types, Acordia, TreeView, Superfish, and a few others I believe?

I just purchased the software, Professional Edition, Version 6.0.1 and it was installed through PowerDNN. As I was trying to create our new company's website, I knew how I wanted my menu to look like and as I was goggling to find out how I could create my menu, and I kept seeing that the newest version of DNN should have the DRR menu? When I went and looked at my extensions, I only had the DNN menu, version 1.0.0. After reading more forums and the instructions on the DRR menu, I went ahead and updated/installed the DRR menu Version 2.0.1. I don't know if I was supposed to install as a completely separate extension, but that is what I did and now I no longer have DNN menu in my extensions.

With all that said, and still waiting on Support to tell me which menu I should actually have, I don't have any folders or files for any of the DRR menu types, ie. Acordian, Superfish, Treeview, etc.

I literally have read the DotNetNuke Wiki page on the DRR menu over 100 times, and I must say, I really don't understand since I am so new to this. I am thinking that I was not supposed to upgrade the DNN menu, but maybe just install the DRR menu to my extensions?

I hope this is clear enough for anyone to understand. Oh, and the only files and skins I have are the DarkKnight ones. Nothing else. And it is strange because when I go to the Pages Portal, that has a left Treeview menu and when I look at the source, it says DDR menu.

So I guess my main questions are:
1. Version 6.0.1, am I supposed to have DRR and DNN menu?
2. How can I choose different menu styles and how since I only have DarkKnight skins and templates?
3. How can I edit a edit a menu that is already installed - can I make change to the DarkKnight templates?

Thank you for your time and patience.

1. If you want custom menu its best to use ddr.
2. a new style is made by a folder with with a menudef.xml and a xsl to create the html for your menu see http://dnnddrmenutemplates.codeplex.com/   for various tempaltes . you can then include that simplye by ddr:menu menustyle="superfish" for example
3. Since i am not familliar with dnn own menu only the ddr setup I cannot answer this right now

Thank you. I have looked at that as well. Just need to figure out exactly how to do it. Also, if I wanted my main navigation menu to look like the Admin/Host Control Panel, is that possible with the current menus installed with the 6.0.1 version? I was hoping to do this myself instead of having to buy one from snowcovered. Thanks.

what exactly do you want to replicate admin and host menu is auto added to control panel or do you want to recreate that exact menu?

I would like to recreate the exact style of that menu to our navigation menu. Does that make sense?
