Turning on Gzip compression has been causing problems for quite a while. It has been deprecated in DNN 6.2.x and IIS compression is now recommended.

i have the same exact problem, however it is happening in 6.2.2. Before this was using 6.1.2, but we upgraded to 6.2.2 after that. However, i wanted to try to disable the compression but unable to find the setting in 6.2.2 since the setting is removed in 6.2.x. is there a way to edit this manually via web.config or db?

please execute the following statement inside Host > SQL:
Update {databaseOwner}{objectQualifer}HostSettings SET SettingValue = '0' WHERE SettingName Like 'HttpCompression%'
restart the application afterwards, to become changes effective.
