Well I had the problem too. It seems that if ANY of the javascripts on the page (from modules or the skin) overrides the pageload or malfunctions, then the dnn script to close the page is not working.

In other words, even if you can't see any javascript malfunctioning, try to remove them all from the page and see if that enables the popup to autoclose. If it does, add them 1 at a time to find the one messing up, and when found modify that script. I can inform you that using the document.ready function is one of the things I had to remove, and to make it work, I simply added the scripts to the bottom of the page. It's not optimal, but it seems to work :)

Having this issue to on 1 portal only for one instance with multiple portals.
Had to turn of ribbon bar to for this same site.
Several things not workong like could not click the manage button (they where not faded), some right clicks to f.i. ad a new page did not work etc etc

Another strang thing on this same portal is that the login and register button take +/- 5 seconds before they appear. each time I reload or change from page...

Again only this portal, none of my other portals on the same instance have this.I use Artisteer, but on al of the portals...

Also seeing the same exact behavior and results by turning GZ compression on and off.  Running DNN 6.01, .NET framework is 3.5  other performance settings as follows:

Page State Persistence: Page
Module Cache Provider: Memory
Cache Setting: Heavy
Authenticated Cacheability: ServerAndNoCache

Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciatied.

What is the Legacy skin missing ?
