From the Admin Area.. If I click on File Manager... it take at least 5 minutes to load. Any thoughts or reasons for this. It was doign this on 6.1.1 as well.

please go to Host Settings and ensure, compression has beeen disabled.

i have checked this and made sure that it is set to No Compression... still no luck. Any other reasons why only this portion of the DNN sites I have take a long time to work with the file manager... can it be an IIS setting or something else?

Can anyone else chime in here that has a site running 6.1.1 or 6.1.2 that has 1600+ files in the portal directory... anything over this amount is causing the file manager to hang for long period of time. In comparison to DNN5 the DNN6 sites are unusable in regards to the file manager.

While my one site that has 1600 files in it takes a long time... I have another site with 3400 files and it can take up to 10 minutes for the file manager to load. Another site that has 10,600 files - hanges for what seems like forever...

There is something indexing the file manager every single time it is accessed. Can anyone look into this issue?

we had the same problem, only we have over a 1.000.000 files (generated by the system) and growing.

==> it is a bad idea to keep these kind of files in the portals folder, we moved them outside and are handling the maintainance ourself (not using the filemanager)
