I'm running a 6.1.1 site.  When I open up the editor and try to create or edit a link, or insert an image, the dialog box for the link or the image is hidden behind the editor's own dialog box.

I tried inserting the string DnnModules{z-index: 100;} as someone else suggested in the css file for the skin but that didn't help.  I also tried 1000 instead of 100 (also a suggestion) with no luck.  I've tried clearing cache and such, but nothing helps.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I have the same problem! I stayed with the FCK editor a while back rather than move to the new one because the new one exposed a css problem with the skin I'm using...

OK, saw this post from Sebastian in an earlier thread:

this sounds like a CSS issue, might be caused by the skin or changes in default.css. Please be aware of security issues with FCKEditor version shipped, I suggest using CKEditor provider instead (download for free from dnnckeditor.codeplex.com).

Downloaded it... my only question is this a new install or upgrade from FCK editor... off to research that now!

OK, just download the dnnckeditor from dnnckeditor.codeplex.com --- decided, for kicks, if I could try some of the other editors through the host menu rather than figure out the install versus upgrade. Got a lousy error message through that setting, wouldn't let me do anything with it. (When I hardcoded my fck editor a few years ago it was with version 4. something and I had to change the web config file to do it.)

Installed fresh the DNN 6 version dnnckeditor (the DNN 6 version isn't in the install notes but it is in the package! Use that one!)... not only did it install a great editor, but when I went back to the HTML editor host settings, it fixed that too! I now have a menu of editors to choose from in the pull down!

when installing ckeditor provider, please make sure to use proper package for your DNN version. I installed it w/o issues on DNN 4, DNN 5 and DNN 6.

Cheers from Germany,
