I have been searching diligently but haven't been able to locate anything that has lead to resolution so I am posting this somewhat familiar request for help.

Here are the details: I am copying my company site from our host (3Essentials) to a local development machine in order to have a safe environment to work in. I am running IIS 7.5 on a Windows 7 virtual machine. I have restored the DB and the site from backups however when I go to the site in the browser: localhost\mysite, I get a page that is created by Parallels Plesk Panel stating that "You see this page because you have set up your Web server for serving a new site, but have not uploaded the site content yet. " On that page there is a box that contains 'Test pages' from which I am able to connect to the Database.

I am quite confused. I have changed the alias in the DB to be localhost\mysite. Does this sound like a permission issue? I am able to log into the DB from SQL Server Management Studio using the credential that I have in the connection string. I am give more info as needed but think that I have given all important details (at least all that I can think off right now).

I would really appreciate help, thanks.

Michael

What im not understanding is why you would be seeing a plesk message on your localhost.

Sounds more like some sort of issue with how your local machine environment is setup.
