I am using DNN6 and the latest Netism Map Extreme module. I am using a custom template, and have entered icon url for each map location. For some reason, I cannot get the module to recognize my custom icons. I have emailed the developer, several times, but he has stop responding. Can someone help me. What exactly do you need to do to use custom icons for each map location?

Do you need to change the Map Icon/InfoBox templates?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Chad,

I've not used that module, but I would be happy to take a look at it if you have a URL. Do you see the default icons on your map? Are you using a relative or absolute url for the icons? Double check the path and make sure you can view the custom icons on the server.

Thanks for your response. The default icons are appearing. I have tested my icon urls and they work fine. I have tried accessing them both relative and absolute in the module; neither way works.

Thanks again.

I was able to resolve the problem by using the token {Iconfile}.

Chad, I am having similar support issues with Tin Lam from Netism. And from reports I think others have support issues. I submitted two tickets on Snowcovered and got absolutely no response. I finally found a support email address and sent it there. I got an almost immediate reply and he said if I provided a host account he would investigate that day. It's been a week now and nothing. I have followed up with additional request emails. I don't mind being told that the problem is being investigated or whatever. But silence is not golden in this case.

My issue is that Netism Maps were working great in DNN 6.1.2 to show site members on a map. I upgraded to DNN 6.1.3 and now the map just won't load. Do you have it working on 6.1.3? I know that there was a core update that had something to do with user profile data that caused Active Social to break. They issued a patch. So I am not sure if this is related or not since I am displaying user data on the map.

I think these are really great products that Tin has produced and they can be used in so many ways. But I am somewhat concerned about using modules on my sites that aren't well supported.

I just sent a follow up email to Tin and haven't heard back. But I looked on my site to see if he ever logged in with the SuperUser account I provided a week ago and it looks like he just logged in. So hopefully I will have some feedback on this soon. Will provide a follow up reply.

I would be interested in seeing your implementation of this module if you could share the site.
