New Community Website

Ordinarily, you'd be at the right spot, but we've recently launched a brand new community website... For the community, by the community.

Yay... Take Me to the Community!

Welcome to the DNN Community Forums, your preferred source of online community support for all things related to DNN.
In order to participate you must be a registered DNNizen

I agree that there should be a meta-Community Exchange page for discussing how Community Exchange and the Q&A module should be handled. Otherwise, the Community Exchange area will get littered with meta stuff. I suppose this could be handled through a forum instead but then you lose the ability to vote for and show support for recommendations.

Within a question the profile links by the people who provided an answer all point to the profile of the person who has entered the question. This does not seem to be correct.

I have to say that I agree with David quite a bit. I don't have a lot of questions to ask right now and questions that are already asked seem to have answers with which I would agree. So since I don't have vote up privileges the only way for me to get some reputation points is to put in somewhat duplicate answers to existing questions. That's definitely not what we want is it?

Some type of limited time frame edit capability is also a must. David's intended answer on one question is totally misconstrued because of his typo. It can really impact the quality of information in the exchange.

I know you all are working through this initial launch and I can say that this is a tool I have wanted as a module for quite a while. My main use case for this is on a Community Site that uses Active Social in its current state as an independent module. So I would need for this to integrate into the current Active Social journal. I am not a programmer, but I assume that since the code is available someone could update it to do that and add value to the module? As a member of the Active Social community who has been waiting for AS in the Core it wouldn't be helpful for an answer to be ... wait until 6.2 or 6.3 for the integration.

Is this a module developed by DNNCorp?

Cliff, I agree with you as we are in the same situation. We have 3 communities using AS, and have waited ( a year now?) to improve on the existing functionality. This Q&A release promises it, and yet we would immediately start hacking the two together.

We'd appreciate a look into integration of the two.

Cliff - This is a module developed by DNN Corp.  I don't expect that we'll add the AS integration directly but will add it once the journal is part of the core which is expected in 6.2. (this is purely speculation on my part as it is really under Scott and Chris's control)  I know it is not the answer you want to hear, but we always have to balance resources and it is a little hard to justify doing the integration when we expect that AS will be integrated in our next major release.
