Hi,

I'm a web developer and for a project we are running DNN6.1.3.
I want this DNN in a VS2010 solution. I don't use the source, I just want the site, as a web-application in visual studio.

I've been searching everywere, but besides upgrade manuals I find nothing about getting this to run in VS. Can anybody shed some light onto this?

What do I do?
I downloaded the install version (DotNetNuke_Community_06.01.03_Install).
I created a web application solution in VS.
I deleted the default files from the solution, then extract the zip to that location and added all files to the solution.
I add references to the DLL's.
Then the fun starts...

I see the strangest errors:
Login.ascx is in both desktopModules/Admin/Authentication and in AuthenticationServices/DNN
Affiliates.ascx DesktopModules\Admin\Vendors was in the wrong namespace
all .cs files cannot find the objects in their ascx files.

Am I setting things up wrong???
Why isn't there a manual for this, or am I the only person on earth trying this?

any help appreciated...

the easiest thing to do is to install a copy of the website, then in vs.net do a file->open website. Now when you do a File->Add (e.g. to create a new module via a template), vs.net will automatically create a solution file for you (AFAIR http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Video-Library/Viewer/VideoId/107/Module-Development-Template-Installation.aspx covers this as part of it's setup)

I tried wat you said, and indeed, as a website project it builds fine.

But I want to use it as a web application. And then the namespace issue's arise. And all these other issue.

Perhaps DNN should create a webapplication solution for download?

Yeah, well...
Umbraco 5 does build, so I switched.
