I've been following Will Strohl's upgrade path > http://www.willstrohl.com/Blog/EntryI... on a backup website for testing and it's gone mostly well, needing to remove a few modules (or modify code lines) and everything has been successful up to the last upgrade (to 6.1.4 instead of 6.1.3).

The upgrade did say it was complete but had error lines:

00:00:14.062 -   Executing Application Upgrades: 06.01.00 Error!
00:00:15.484 -   Installing Package File DDRMenu_02.00.01_Install:  Error!

Unfortunately now, any page at all shows an error message:

An error has occurred. DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.PageLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.UI.Containers.ActionButtonList.get_ModuleActions() at DotNetNuke.UI.Containers.ActionButtonList.OnLoad(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

I've tried to find out more and since the Event Viewer isn't accessible I've looked at the EventLog table but there's no more clues to the above.

The only glitch I noticed as I stepped through the 5.x upgrades were some Ajax behaviour. For example if I tried to update Portal or Host settings the Update button wasn't doing anything. I couldn't see anything flagged or preventing it but otherwise everything did seem fine.

Does anyone have any clues at all into this?

are you using URLMaster or PageBlaster? if yes, you should disable it prior to a core upgrade. Try calling /install/install.aspx?mode=installresources to restart DDRMenu installation.

Thanks Sebastian

I didn't have either of those installed but I tried that reinstall resources. Unfortunately the DDRmenu had an error again.

Hi David, please check Eventlog (table in the database), to get details of the error.

Hi Sebastian

I did and it didn't seem to show anything that helped, and appears on every page I try to visit.  The table shows:

Does anything there provide more info on the problem?
