Hi, i'm building a simple redesign of my company's HR site using DNN.

On the home page I have the user log in(using the account login module). I have the site redirecting the user to another page with content on it once they log in. This works fine until you hit back on your browser or somehow browse otherwise back to the home page while still logged in. The page is just blank where the login form used to be and there' no way to get back to the page that has content on it and there's no way to log out.

Is there a way to have a page with a login module on it display different content once a user logs in?

Hello,

Definitely, you can control content visibility very easily in DNN. For any given module, go to "Manage" then "Settings". Under the "Permissions" tab, you'll find the standard DNN permissions list. One of the security roles (by default) is "Registered Users". This role has everybody who is a registered (and logged on) user.

So, you can make two modules - the "public" one and the "private" one. Or, in your case, perhaps just a private one. In the private one, you make it visible only to registered users.

As a heads up, it's possible that this won't work well because the 'back' button in a browser usually pulls up the cached page in the browser's history. This often creates view state errors for web apps today. Still, give it a try and see what you think.

Hope this helps,

Mike
