But they should both support debbugging and therefore OK for any development work?

Would you suggest for my message  Unable to start debugging on the Website. The Web Server is not configured correctly.

Perhaps I should re-install VS2008? is there anything else I should re0-install at the same time?

 Thanks again

please check the settings, which web server is used (please check MSDN for details, I don't have a link at hand for VS2008).

From the asp.dll (C:\Program Files (x86)\IIS Express) I can see Internet Information Services Version 7.5.7600.20891. I can find no other asp.dll which makes me think it must be this.

Does this help?

I've now resolved this one by cleaning the build (right click project and 'clean').

The error messages kept indicating the dll was not debug however the project setting were correct and the pdb files created in the correct directory and had current date and time. I'm assuming an optimization in the build stopped a full re-build of my module dll (Optimize code in Project settings turned off).

I hope this post saves someone else the fraustration trying to getting to debug.
