Possible solution for DisplayName error:

Note that I am using the source version (DotNetNuke_4.3.0_Source.zip). I unzipped it over my 4.0.3 version. When I just tried to open the site with IE I got the same error. I then used VS 2005 to execute a Rebuild on the solution and then executed a Build Web Site. Everything works now.  Note that if you run VS 2005 in debug you will get an IndexOutOfRange warning  in this function:

 

       Public Shared Function GetUser(ByVal portalId As Integer, ByVal   userId As Integer, ByVal isHydrated As Boolean) As UserInfo

 

            Return memberProvider.GetUser(portalId, userId, isHydrated)

 

        End Function

 

I just clicked Continue and everything worked. Note that I have just tried this on my experimental 4.0.3 site not on anything that matters yet!

note, that you need to integrate changes into web.config from release.config or developement.config.

You can have this error if the db has not been updated successfully ...
try run intall/install.apsx again ...

It is database related, seems to be a bug in the installer. The sitelog said:

What is the difference between release.config and development.config? Is it only the Debug=true (although this is also set to true in the Release version) and the ShowMissingKey stuff?
