Hi everyone

I have a problem on my site with the device detection not working. The error from the EventLog is attached below.

I have another site where it works fine. I want to get it working on my site too but don't know where to start troubleshooting and fixing. Maybe there is something missing but could not find anything.

The site was set up with version 6.0 and then allways updated until today 6.1.5.

I hope anyone could give me some advice. Many thanks in advance

Daniel

Hi,

Verify in your web.config file than the MobileRedirect module is AFTER the UrlRewrite. Both modules are in the section (IIS 7+) or (IIS 6)

Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

Hi Giles

Thank you very much for the rapid answer. I veryfied this already before posting.

I doublechecked again and veryfied that MobileRedirect comes after UrlRewrite in the section system.webServer/modules as well as in the section system.web/HttpModules. This is OK

I guess there is another problem waiting to be found :)

Hi Daniel,

Because you have another working website, you could compare the modules order in both web.config file? It could be a problem introduced by a module.

Do you use the default URL Rewrite module or a 3th party modules like iFinity? If you don't use the default one, try to upgrade your module.

The last option, is to install the Symbol files available at Codeplex. It's an extension like any other module, then you can install and uninstall it. This will provide us the FileName, FileLineNumber and FileColumnNumber parameters in the exception, this could help to found a solution.

Gilles,

This is a whole bunch of things to try. I did already compare the web.config files. I could not see any major difference.

I certainly will repeat that and follow out other advices but need some more time for doing this. I'll post any result of my research as soon as possible. It might last until next weekend

Until then, again many thanks for your support and have a nice time

Daniel
