what is the link you're seeing when you click, there is some code to detect if there is no profileid and redirect to the relevant page (if the user is on the usertab or a parent to the usertab) - as this code does a response.redirect that will throw a thread abort to perform the 302 redirect , so perhaps something is wrong here. Please check what your admin->site settings user and profile tab settings are, and if you can look at the requests that occur in a http proxy such as fiddler and let us know that would be useful

When I click on the user name the properties I see (in terms of the link): are http://words2eat.com/User-Profile/use... when I'm logged in.

In my site settings this is what I have, I have "User Profile Page: (and then in the dropdown) User Profile.

Now in terms of the requests that occur, you just lost me(smile).

I've tried creating a new profile page, but as soon as I drop the viewprofile module on the page I get an system exception error. If I leave that page and try to return to it, I get the same errors as above.

I'm really trying to not have to revert back, and I have a small window to either "cut bait, or fish." (lol)

can you please run the following so I can check that the control is pointing to the right file "SELECT * FROM [dbo].[dnn_ModuleControls] where controlkey ='ViewProfile'"

I've been having the same problem. This is what I got when running that command:

System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException (0x80131904): Invalid object name 'dbo.dnn_ModuleControls'. at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection. (SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlInternalConnection. Shelly, you may not be using dnn_ as the objectqualifier, so you will need to amend the query (or if youre not using one then drop it ie..SELECT * FROM [dbo].[ModuleControls] where controlkey ='ViewProfile' )

How do I know if I'm using an objectqualifier? I tried running the script you suggested but got this: The query did not return any data.

Thanks.
